NYPD confirms Missing 29-Year-Old YouTuber Desmond Amofah, Better Known as Etika,Has Been Found Dead. The New York Police Department tweeted on Tuesday that Desmond Amofah, the YouTuber known by his social-media handle, Etika, has been found dead. He had been missing since Wednesday. Amofah, 29, had amassed a YouTube following of over 130,000 subscribers, along with a Twitter audience of over 327,000 followers. The NYPD had confirmed the YouTuber's disappearance in a tweet on Thursday asking for any information on Amofah's whereabouts. On Saturday, police sources told the New York Post that a bag and a cellphone believed to belong to Amofah were found by the Manhattan Bridge. Amofah on Wednesday uploaded a video on YouTube, which has since been taken down, in which he expressed suicidal thoughts and referred to his "stained legacy." Vietnamese Blogger Sentenced to Years in Jail for Environmental Protest. A Vietnamese environmental activist and blogger has been sentenced to six years in prison under the country's new law that cracks down on online dissent. Nguyen Ngoc Anh, a 39-year old shrimp farmer from the southern town of Binh Dai, was arrested and tried for what state media described as "making, storing, releasing, and circulating information and documents against the state." He was sentenced to six years in prison Thursday by the People's Court of Ben Tre province, followed by five years under house arrest, according to the state-run Vietnam News Agency (VNA). The European Commission called the sentence a "direct breach" of international human rights agreements.
